ACCIDENT
AND EMERGENCY
In extreme emergencies such as severe
breathing difficulty, chest pain, or severe injury
telephone 000 immediately and ask for an ambulance.
For less urgent cases our surgery is equipped
to deal with minor casualties. In urgent cases
the first available doctor and our registered
nurse will attend to you as a matter of priority.
Please inform the receptionist if you think you
require urgent treatment.
Emergency patients will be seen by the first available
doctor rather than their preferred doctor.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS AND REFERRALS
In some cases you may obtain a repeat prescription
for regular medications or a referral without
a consultation, THIS IS AT THE DOCTORS DISCRETION.
It is preferred that you make an appointment
for a consultation so your condition may be
reviewed and the management of your condition
updated. If you are requesting a repeat prescription
or a referral please leave all details with
our receptionists and please ensure that we
have 24 hours notice to complete the prescription
or referral, or to ask an appointment be made.
PATHOLOGY AND
OTHER RESULTS
To protect your confidentiality and to maintain
the highest quality of patient care, most results
will not be given over the telephone. The doctors
or nurse will advise you when your results should
be available. You should make a follow up appointment
to see your doctor. If your results are completely
normal there will be no need to come in urgently.
You will be able to discuss these results at
your next consultation.
